He's become such a fixture, workers have named him.

OAKLAND, CA — Sgt. Blanco has reported for duty and he refuses to go home.

Blanco is a rooster who showed up at the Alameda County Sheriff's Office substation at Oakland International Airport several months ago and now "refuses to leave" according to a social media post.

"He likes to hang around the patrol cars and listen to the police radio."

The sheriff's office reports that Blanco is treated as a member of the team and is treated well.

"We are not sure how he was promoted to sergeant so quickly but we hear he’s an early riser."
