Police Log: Attack Outside Restaurant, Damaged Police Vehicles, Stolen Bike on Craigslist
Lots on alcohol-fueled incidents on the police blotter.

SUNDAY, OCT. 6
Bar brouhaha — Two men, ages 32 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after they caused a a disturbance at a Park Street tavern and were thrown out by an employee about 12:30 a.m.
Domestic brouhaha — Two men in their 60s and a woman were arrested on a variety of charges after a series of arguments and physical altercations among them at a Buena Vista Avenue residence shortly after midnight. Police said modes of attack included kicking, blows to one person's face and use of a wooden club. Four syringes filled with suspected heroin were found at the scene, police said.
Battery — Police said a man was punched by an unidentified person as both men were leaving the Dragon Rouge restaurant at 2337 Blanding Ave. The victim's brother brought him to a local hospital for medical treatment several hours later.
Church arrest — Police arrested a 20-year-old man after responding to a report of a suspicious person at Christ Episcopal Church, 1700 Santa Clara Ave. about 8:30 a.m. Officers said the man had stolen and misappropriated property and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Concealed weapons — Police arrested a 42-year-old man who was already on probation after he was seen loitering at an abandoned apartment complex on Orion Street about 5:20 p.m. The man had a concealed knife, a concealed hatchet and a knife sharpener in his possession, police said.
A bicycle far from home — A man whose bicycle was stolen in San Jose saw what he believed was his bike for sale in Alameda via Craigslist. The man selling the bike said he had bought it at an Oakland flea market but agreed to turn the bike over to Alameda police for investigation.
Kicking a police vehicle — A 46-year-old man resisted police when they tried to take him into custody following a domestic violence incident on Santa Clara Avenue about 8:45 p.m. The man had reportedly hit his girlfriend in the head with a backpack containing a laptop computer. Officers said physical force was needed after the man kicked the rear passenger door of a patrol vehicle hard enough to cause permanent damage and then tried to escape.
And more damage — Police arrested a 27-year-old man on Park Street about 10:30 p.m. on suspicion of public intoxication and were taking him to jail in Oakland when the man began making death threats against an officer, police said. At the entrance to the jail, the man kicked the rear window of an Alameda police vehicle, causing extensive damage, and tried to escape, police said.
MONDAY, OCT. 7
Vehicle burglary — Someone broke into a locked vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Park Street and stole stereo equipment.
Brandishing a weapon — A 62-year-old man was arrested after he brandished a knife at another person in the 900 block of Park Street a little before 2 p.m., police said. Officers said the man also resisted arrest.
Dog bite — A man was bitten by a dog as he was watering his lawn in the 200 block of Beach Road about 4:15 p.m.
Outside assist — An Alameda Police Department K9 unit helped Oakland police with a search for a suspect in an assault case in the late afternoon.
