Police Log: Burglar with No Pants, Stolen Dentures, Illegal Smoking
Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from Sept. 1 to Sept. 4. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 1
Burglary — A resident of the 600 block of Santa Clara Avenue called police when she heard glass break and someone inside her home at about 3:20 a.m. Officers said they discovered Linden G. Litton, 60, in the victim's backyard, near a broken window and minus his pants. Litton was arrested on suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest.
School burglary — Several pieces of computer equipment were reported stolen from a locked classroom at Alameda High School.
Identity theft — Someone used a Fernside Boulevard resident's credit card number to make unauthorized purchases.
Auto thefts — A vehicle was reported stolen from near the corner of Baywalk and Mecartney roads. Another vehicle theft happened in 1800 block of Santa Clara Avenue.
MONDAY, SEPT. 2
Another good reason not to smoke — Police contacted a 22-year-old who was reportedly smoking in public in the 1600 block of Webster Street about 12:40 a.m. She was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamine.
DUI arrest — A 20-year-old man was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of Park Street on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license.
ID theft — A Central Avenue resident's debit card number was used to make unauthorized out-of-state purchases.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 3
Attempted robbery — A would-be robber tried to grab a cell phone and backpack from a male victim in the 1900 block of Webster Street about 9:15 p.m. Police said the victim was able to hold onto his property and escape on foot.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 4
Missing person — A person reported missing by the Dinuba Police Department was located in Alameda.
Thefts — A boat and trailer were reported stolen from the 1800 block of Clement Avenue. A thief cut a lock and stole a bicycle from the 1500 block of Everett Street. Outgoing mail was stolen from a residential mailbox on Brown Street.
Burglaries — Painting supplies were stolen from a shed on Garden Road. In a separate incident, some reached through the open front door of a home on Clement Avenue and took a bag containing the victim's dentures.
Good citizen — A female reported losing her wallet somewhere in Alameda. A citizen found the wallet later and brought it to the police department.
