Police to Hold Forum on License Plate Reader Policy

The Alameda Police Department invites community members to a public forum to discuss the Department’s policy for using Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at 6:30 P.M. in the Main Library conference room, 1550 Oak St.

The public forum will include presentations by the Alameda Police Department, the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC), and the American Civil Liberties Union – Northern California (ACLU-NC).

After the presentations, a public discussion, question & answer, and debate will take place to provide the Police Department with public input for the ALPR policy. A final draft of the policy will come to the City Council, in a public session, at a later date.
