'Action-Packed' Professional Bull Riding Event Will Return To The East Bay
"Don't miss this action-packed night where man and beast collide in one of the most electrifying shows in sports," organizers said.
OAKLAND, CA — A popular bull riding event is returning to Oakland for a fifth straight season, with organizers promising an "action-packed" night on the West Coast.
Professional Bull Riders return to Oakland in April, its second-to-last stop on a tour pitting dozens of the top riders in the sport against each other, organizers said.
"Don’t miss this action-packed night where man and beast collide in one of the most electrifying shows in sports, the only sport showcasing a lightweight taking on a heavyweight," PBR Public Relations Manager Taylor Riemersma said in a statement. "Whether a seasoned PBR fan or new to the scene, PBR Oakland is an event that will keep everyone on the edge of their seat."

The event will take place at the Oakland Arena on April 11, 2026, where around 1.5 million pounds of dirt will be used to transform the venue into a real rodeo.
"The dirt is a special clay-sand blend establishing a firm enough surface for the bulls to buck hard but soft enough so that every rider is not injured when thrown like a rag doll," Riemersma said.

At the event, 35 riders will battle it out in a short round to become one of 10 riders to advance to the championship round. The top 10 riders will then compete for the event title, Riemersma said.
The event will be crucial for riders looking to qualify for the season-ending finals in Texas the following month.
