Alameda City Council, School Board Election Results 2024

Voters have had their say on recalling the district attorney, and more local races.

ALAMEDA, CA — The race for the top two spots in the Alameda City Council election was neck-and-neck Tuesday night when votes were tallied. By 1 a.m. Wednesday, Michele Pryor had claimed 24.6-percent of the votes, while Greg Boller had 23.6-percent. Not far behind was Trish Herrera Spencer, who had garnered 22.6-percent. The lead in this race may shift in coming days as more vote-by-mail ballots arrive and are counted.

In the race for three school board seats, Heather Little, Jennifer Williams, and Meleah Hall are the current front-runners.

Looking at the recall attempt of District Attorney Pamela Price, 64.79-percent of voters want her removed from office.

In the District 5 race for the Board of Supervisors, John J. Bauters holds a comfortable lead over Nikki Fortunato Bas.

As of September, the California Secretary of State reported that 22,310,352 Californians were registered to vote, which accounts for almost 82.92 percent of the state's eligible voting population.

In Alameda County, 950,534 residents are registered to vote, nearly 84 percent of all residents who are eligible. 59.3 percent of registered voters are Democrats, and 11.74 are Republican, a slight rise from 10.9 percent in 2022.

Alameda County has the fourth-highest percentage of Democrats in the state, behind San Francisco, Marin and Santa Cruz counties.
