Red-Light Runner Crashes Into Oakland Ambulance: Police
Oakland police are investigating a collision involving an ambulance and a speeding car that allegedly ran a red light Tuesday night.

OAKLAND, CA — Oakland police are investigating a collision involving an ambulance and a speeding car that allegedly ran a red light Tuesday night.
Just before 10 p.m., a dark-colored sedan was heading east on 27th Street when it allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, police said Wednesday.
The car collided with a Falck ambulance, which was transporting a patient, police said.

The car's driver allegedly left the scene of the collision but eventually came back and was identified by a witness.
The driver was detained "pending further investigation" and it's not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor, police said.

The driver's name wasn't released and police didn't say if anyone was injured in the collision.
