ALAMEDA, CA — It's been a chilly past few weeks in the Bay Area. But honestly, it's felt like a real winter.

Being from Los Angeles, I can't say I've experienced a fall season so cold. Still, it has been such a beautiful experience.

The leaves change up here, and Jeff Cambra, who took these photos, encapsulates the beauty of winter in the Bay Area.

The first photo shows a "very tall" tree in Alameda with a light shining bright atop, Cambra told Patch.

The light, which he coined the "Star of Alameda," stopped shining for a few years, Cambra recalls, but it's back.

"I don’t know the story of how it got there and who put it up," Cambra said. "I have been asking around and trying to contact the person who owns the home that the tree is in."

The second photo captures vibrant autumn colors that cover much of the sidewalks in Alameda.
