ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Deputies arrested a man suspected in an April shooting in Castro Valley, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

On April 17, deputies responded to Castro Valley Boulevard and Baker Road for a report of a shooting. Witnesses reported gunfire between the occupants of two vehicles. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate the vehicles involved or victims at the scene.

Eventually detectives identified the victim, who had fled the scene. Deputies believe the victim fired a BB gun at the suspect and the suspect, who allegedly knew the victim, returned fire with live rounds from a real firearm.
