Hydrangea in Alameda, Calif. (Geoff Geiger)

ALAMEDA, CA — Hydrangeas are typically large blue or pink globes. Geoff Geiger found one in Alameda that has the expected flowers around the circumference, but an unusual center. If this were the 4th of July we'd compare the middle to sparklers.
