Webster Tube Overnight Closure Planned For Maintenance Work
The closure will be postponed if the weather is bad.
ALAMEDA, CA — Caltrans has scheduled a closure of the Webster Tube for fire system inspections and tunnel maintenance.
The closure will take place overnight, and the tube will remain open during the daytime.
Closure Details:
March 19, 2025 – 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Traffic Control & Detour Information:
• Changeable message and detour signs will be in place to assist drivers.
• The California Highway Patrol will be onsite to support traffic management.
Important Notes:
• The tunnel will remain open during the daytime; closure is nighttime only.
• Work is weather dependent.
