Woman Pedestrian Killed In Alameda

ALAMEDA, CA — A pedestrian was killed in Alameda just before 6:30 pm on Wednesday, according to the Alameda Police Department.

The crash was in the intersection of Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and Coral Sea Street.

The victim, a 59-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The driver, a 70-year-old man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Both are Alameda residents.

In the coming weeks, City staff from APD, Public Works, and Transportation Planning will visit the site and review investigation details to discuss potential safety improvements.
