A worker on a ship moored at Alameda Point’s Pier 2 died Tuesday morning following a shipboard medical emergency that drew 17 Alameda firefighters to the scene.
Other workers on the ship were providing first aid when fire crews and paramedics arrived around 11 a.m, according to a press release from the Alameda Fire Department. The fire department released neither the name of the deceased nor the nature of the emergency that led to his death.
The man was removed from the ship with the help of a rescue basket attached to a crane on a neighboring ship.Find out what's happening in Alamedafor free with the latest updates from Patch.
