Staff members at FOX 11 News are reeling from the loss of one of their own.
Martin Burns, one of the network’s investigative writers and producers, was killed in a fall while hiking near Inspiration Point near Altadena Sunday afternoon.
His body was discovered by another hiker in a ravine in the Angeles National Forest.

Members of the FOX 11 staff shared stories of Burns on a webpage dedicated to the journalist.
Burns was described as an avid hiker who was dedicated to his career as an investigative journalist.

Gina Silva, an investigative reporter wrote: “He was passionate about his work, always putting in extra hours and even investigating stories on his time off. His mission was simple: get some kind of justice for people who were scammed or hurt by a corrupt system. Yes, Martin's heart was always in the right place.”
Anchor Christine Devine called Burns “bright, eager, professional and competent.”
Vice President News Director Kingsley Smith wrote, “We will miss him. This newsroom will miss him. Our viewers will miss him."
