Silvera has given countless hours of time to the community - and is a recipient of the President's Lifetime Volunteer Service Award. He's currently the Altadena Chamber of Commerce's "Citizen of the Year" - but, heck, another accolade might help to encourage others to emulate Silvera's dedication and service to the community

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Silvera is a community treasure, who has been the broadly-smiling face of the Altadena Community Garden for more than a decade. While he's stepping back, he'll still be helping to make sure that the Garden continues growing, year after year.
