Teen Robbed And Stabbed At Topanga Mall: Attackers At Large

The two suspects fled after police say they stole jewelry from the teenager in the mall parking garage.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police are searching for two suspects accused of robbing and stabbing a teenager at Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park on Thursday, Los Angeles police say.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at about 4:30 p.m., Jeff Lee, a public information officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, said.

When officers arrived, Lee said they found a teenager with a stab wound to their arm.

Initial investigation showed that the teenager was stabbed in the parking garage off West Owensmouth Avenue, then two suspects fled with stolen jewelry, Lee said.

Rescuers with the Los Angeles Fire Department took the teenager to a hospital, Lee said.

An investigation is ongoing as police search for the suspects.

The first man is described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, while the second man is described as standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds, according to Lee. Both men were last seen wearing black hoodies.

The weapon, which has not been recovered, is believed to be a black knife with a silver handle, Lee said.
