• AUSD Staff Gets Raise; Teachers Rallying for Better Deal (ccpulse.org) — Classified staff in Antioch Unified School District will receive a 1.5% raise and three more years of fully paid Kaiser health benefits starting Jan. 1, 2026, even as the district faces major budget deficits. Meanwhile, Antioch teachers are rallying and bargaining for higher raises and fully paid health coverage through 2028, pressing the school board to improve its current offer.
   

• Bay Area events calendar for Dec. 19 weekly editions (mercurynews.com) — Antioch readers can catch “Humbug,” a long-running local take on A Christmas Carol, at Paulette Taylor Studio on G Street this Friday night. The wider calendar also highlights holiday concerts, plays, hikes, and family activities across the East Bay and South Bay through Christmas Day.
   

• BART Fares, Parking Rates To Increase Soon (patch.com) — If you ride BART from Antioch, prepare for higher costs starting Jan. 1, when fares systemwide will rise about 6.2% and the Antioch–Montgomery trip will jump by 55 cents. Parking at many stations will also increase, as BART tries to close a major budget gap caused by lower post-pandemic ridership.
