Arboretum to Receive New Lighting
The project supports the County Board of Supervisor's Sustainable Design Program.

will receive lighting and parking lot improvements beginning Aug. 15.
To enhance security in the parking lot areas along Baldwin Avenue and near the main entrance, the project also includes the installation of approximately 20 new light poles and solar-powered fixtures, upgrades to the existing light poles and fixtures and related concrete work such as asphalt paving and patching as needed.
Portions of the project will support the Board of Supervisor's Sustainable Design Program by employing pole-mounted photovoltaic solar energy panels to power the light fixture, while reducing maintenance needs at the site by installing high-efficiency, long lasting LED lamps. The new LED lamps will use at least 30 percent less energy and last five times longer than the existing lamps.

At an estimated cost of $500,000, the project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 30.
The Arboretum has been in recovery mode since the that tore through the San Gabriel Valley. , and the Arboretum closed for a month.
