Arcadia Fire Blotter: Gas Leak Detected on Encino Court

The following information is from the Arcadia Fire Department:
Sunday, November 10
At 7:54 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1200 block of South Short Street. Fire crews arrived to find a 39 year old female who had experienced a syncopal episode and fallen to the floor. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, oxygen therapy, and full spinal immobilization. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Monday, November 11
At 5:54 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in 1100 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a 53 year old male who had experienced a syncopal episode. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Tuesday, November 12
At 12:32 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of Corto Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from general weakness and slurred speech. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and blood glucose monitoring. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
Wednesday, November 13
At 7:54 p.m., Engine 105 responded to a fire alarm in the 100 block of North Second Avenue. Engine 105 arrived on scene and found smoke in a third floor room of a hotel. The source of the smoke was burnt food. Truck 105 was requested to the scene to assist with smoke removal. Fire personnel utilized a positive pressure ventilation fan to forcefully remove the smoke from the building.
Thursday, November 14
At 4:21 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 107 responded to a medical assist in the 1200 Block of Oakglen Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from chest pain. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
Friday, November 15
At 12:26 p.m., Truck 105 responded on a hazard investigation in the 600 block of Encino Court. Truck 105 arrived on scene and discovered an odor of natural gas in the area. Personnel utilized a flammable gas detector to isolate the source of the leak to a natural gas meter. The Southern California Gas Company was contacted and Truck 105 remained on scene until their arrival.
Saturday, November 16
At 5:48 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 200 block of West Colorado Place. Fire crews arrived to find a 47 year old male in cardiac arrest. Neighbors had not seen the patient for two days and entered the apartment as a welfare check. Following local protocols, paramedics pronounced the patient deceased and released the scene to Arcadia police officers.
