City Approves $18.5 Million Medical Office Project at Santa Anita Park
The Arcadia City Council has given preliminary approval to a medical office project that will be built in current the parking lot of Santa Anita Park.

The Arcadia City Council approved plans for a $18.5 million medical office project that will be built on land currently used as a parking lot for Santa Anita Park, the Pasadena Star-News reports.
The 70,000 square foot building will be built by the development firm Hale Corporation, which is owned by Bradbury Councilman Dick Hale.
Mayor Mickey Segal told the Star-News that the project is "critical" for the city because of the demand for medical care in the area.
""Certainly, the city needs an expansion of medical space; it's critical to us," Segal told the paper. "You have an aging population, you have a hospital, (which is) one of the centers of medical care in the San Gabriel Valley. That brings a huge demand for doctors in the area."
