Fire Blotter: Accidents on the 210
Several accidents took place on the 210 Freeway this week.

The responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of Aug. 21-27. The following is the Department's weekly report.

Aug. 21
At 6:57 p.m., Engine 106 and Engine 107 responded to a vehicle fire on the eastbound 210 Freeway. Engine 106 arrived on scene and found a disabled tractor-trailer. A vegetation fire had spread between the vehicle, the street and the freeway sound wall. Fire crews extinguished the fire. Investigators determined a smoldering tire that had separated from the vehicle caused the fire.
Aug. 23
At 4:18 p.m., Engine 107, Rescue Ambulance 105, along with units from Pasadena Fire Department, responded to a traffic collision with reported injuries on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Santa Anita Avenue. Fire personnel evaluated one patient suffering from minor to moderate injuries. The patient received advanced life support measures at scene, including: full spinal immobilization, oxygen therapy and cardiac monitoring. Firefighters transported the patient to Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Aug. 24
At 8:03 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist call at the intersection of West Colorado Boulevard and Michillinda Avenue. Fire personnel treated a man suffering from an altered mental status. The patient received advanced life support measures at the scene, including: oxygen therapy, blood glucose monitoring and cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to for further evaluation and treatment.
Aug. 26
At 11:44 p.m., Truck 105, Engine 107, Battalion 105, with units from Monrovia Fire Department, responded to a two-vehicle vehicle collision on the westbound 210 Freeway at Santa Anita Avenue. The occupants of both vehicles had managed to free themselves from the wreck by the time firefighters arrived. Everyone involved in the accident refused additional treatment and ambulance transport. The California Highway Patrol took over the accident scene.
