Former WWII POW Tells Her Story

Wanda Damburg knows fear.

In 1941, when she was 20-years-old, Japanese soldiers wrenched Damburg and her parents away from the home the family shared in the Philippine capital of Manila.

For 36 months while the Japanese occupied the Philippines, Damburg was interned at Camp Santo Tomas and later at Los Banos.

Now 92, Damburg shared her story at a recent meeting of the Arcadia Historical Society.
