Man Stabbed on Gold Line

A man is stabbed during a fight on the Gold Line

Police arrested a man Friday for allegedly stabbing another during a fist fight on the Metro. Jose Paul Vasquez Flores, 36, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail.

Flores' reported victim — an unidentified 33-year-old man — is in critical but stable condition and has undergone surgery at a local hospital, according to a press release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday, the Pasadena Police Department received several reports of a stabbing on the northbound Metro Gold Line train approaching the Memorial Park passenger station at 125 E. Holly Street in Pasadena.

Officers met the train as it pulled into the station, while Pasadena Fire Department personnel and Sheriff's Metro Transit Services arrived shortly thereafter. Witnesses pointed out the suspect and his alleged victim to deputies.
