Murder Trial Postponed Until September
Isaac Campbell of San Gabriel is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and dumping her body in the trash of a friend's place in Arcadia.

The trial for a San Gabriel man accused of slaying his ex-girlfriend and putting her body in an Arcadia trash can in 2007 has been postponed again until Sept. 7, according to officials at Alhambra Superior Court.
Isaac Campbell, 36, of San Gabriel was arrested in connection with the killing of Liya "Jessie" Lu, 31, also of San Gabriel. The two were nursing students at Pasadena City College, and Lu went missing in August 2007, according to officials who spoke to the Pasadena Star-News.
Authorities said Campbell stuffed Lu's body in a trash can at a home in the 1700 block of South Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia, according to the Star-News. The body was found about a month after Lu went missing. Campbell was arrested in Minnesota after the body was found. He is being held in lieu of $1.275 million bail at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles.

The trial proceedings were scheduled to start today, but had been moved to September as the mid-summer start date didn't work with the schedules of many of the case's key people, said prosecutor Steven E. Ipson.
