POLICE BLOTTER: DUI Drives Self to Police Station
A drunk woman allegedly drove through a secured gate leading to the parking lot that houses patrol cars. There, an officer arrested her on suspicion of DUI.

For the period of Nov. 13 - 19, the responded to 893 calls for service, 110 of which required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Nov. 13:
At about 7 p.m., an officer was driving in the area of First and Haven avenues when he observed a bicyclist riding without a headlamp. The officer conducted an enforcement stop and examined the man's bicycle. The officer found two hypodermic needles inside the handle bar. The officer gave the 50-year-old citations for both violations.
At approximately 4:26 p.m., an officer responded to at the regarding a reported commercial burglary. A 14-year-old girl allegedly concealed merchandise inside her purse and left the store without paying. The teen also allegedly stole from several other stores. Officers transported her to the Arcadia City Jail for booking and released her to her father.
Nov. 14:
Around 10:22 a.m., an officer observed a Toyota truck traveling on El Monte Avenue at Longden Avenue, and ran a registration inquiry. The officer discovered the vehicle had expired registration and conducted a traffic stop. When speaking with the driver, the officer saw open alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle. The driver was unable to provide valid registration paperwork and had fraudulent registration stickers on his license plate.The officer arrested the 65-year-old man on suspicion of false display of registration, expired registration, and driving with open containers of alcoholic beverages.
At roughly 9:14 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of West Colorado Boulevard regarding a theft report. The victim explained that two rolling toolboxes were missing from his carport space he uses for storage. Unknown suspect(s) took the property and fled undetected.
Nov. 15:
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to , 188 Las Tunas Drive, in regards to a theft investigation. The store manager heard someone open the emergency door exit and activate the alarm. She saw two suspects running away from the store with two shopping carts full of alcoholic beverages. She followed one suspect until she lost sight of him in a nearby parking lot. Within minutes, the suspects drove past her in a green four-door Toyota down Live Oak Avenue. Officers couldn't find fingerprints on the shopping carts, however, the crime was caught on the store's video surveillance. The Detective Bureau is conducting further investigation.
At about 2:15 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle speeding on south Santa Anita Avenue at Duarte Road, and conducted an enforcement stop. Upon making contact, the officer noticed an odor of burnt marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. The officer found the driver did not have a license or insurance, and he and his passenger were on parole. A vehicle search revealed the passenger, a 30-year-old man, was in possession of stolen property. The passenger was arrested while the 20-year-old driver was cited and released.
Nov. 16:
Between 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., unknown suspect(s) burglarized a home in the 300 block of North Old Rancho Road. The suspect(s) smashed a bedroom window to enter the home and exited through an unlocked kitchen door. The victim's master bedroom was ransacked and all of her jewelry was missing. No one saw or heard anything suspicious.
Around 10:56 a.m., and officer was traveling east on Huntington Drive at Gateway Drive and conducted a vehicle license plate inquiry on a blue Honda Accord. The officer discovered the vehicle's license plate had a warrant attached, and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation revealed the driver was never issued a license and had two outstanding warrants. The officer arrested the 34-year-old man transported him to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Nov. 17:
At approximately 1:10 a.m., an unauthorized vehicle entered the secured parking lot of the Arcadia Police Department as an officer was exiting through the open gate. The officer made a u-turn to follow the vehicle and found it parked in a police parking stall. The officer smelled an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver, a 47-year old woman, was allegedly driving under the influence. She was arrested and escorted to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 12:39 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Encino Drive regarding a residential burglary in progress. An officer spoke with the victim at a neighbor's house. She explained an unknown suspect(s) were insider her home. When the victim tried to open her front door, the suspect slammed the door on her hand and told her not to enter. Officers conducted an interior and exterior check of the residence. The suspect(s) made a forced entry through the kitchen and ransacked a bedroom drawer. No property was reported stolen.
Nov. 18:
Around 7:48 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 000 block of Bonita Street in regarding a reported attempt to steal a vehicle. The victim explained she left her car locked inside the garage overnight, but had forgotten to close the garage door. An unknown suspects(s) pried open the driverís side window, rummaged through the vehicle, and tampered with the ignition in an attempt to steal it. The suspect(s) took a $20 bill and fled undetected.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., an officer responded to the 2000 block of Canyon Road regarding a residential burglary report. The victims had come home to find their rear door-window shattered. The suspect(s) ransacked the home and took numerous items, including a safe and a vehicle from inside the garage. No one heard or saw anything suspicious. The vehicle was found burned and stripped in Riverside County.
Nov. 19:
At approximately 8:56 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Holly and Longden avenues regarding a traffic collision involving an injured bicyclist. The driver of a Jeep failed to yield to a bicyclist's right-of-way and struck her as he proceeded through the intersection. The bicyclist was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for a fractured femur and wrist.
At about 2:44 p.m., an officer responded to Sephora at the Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall regarding a petty theft report. The suspect allegedly concealed merchandise inside the front pocket of his pants and left the store without paying. He also reportedly placed other shoplifted items inside a used shopping bag. Police transported the 19-year-old man to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
