Police Confirm Note Sparked Lockdown

Arcadia Police are looking for the person responsible for writing a note that contained a death threat and led to a nearly 3-hour campus lockdown that also extended to Holly Avenue Elementary School.

The news release sent out by the Arcadia Police Department at 4:45 p.m.

officials received a pending threat on the high school campus today. The threat was a non-specific note – but it did indicate people would be killed on campus today. Shortly before noon, the High School was placed on a and police resources were brought in to deal with the situation.

The investigation led police to and that campus was placed on lockdown for a brief period. It was a minimum day schedule so the lockdown affected only few students. It was determined that there was no threat on the Holly Avenue Campus so the lockdown was released a short time later.

The and School Officials worked together to develop a dismissal plan at the High School and all students were safely escorted from the campus.

No arrests have been made. Investigators are working with school officials to identify who is responsible for the threat.

School will be in session tomorrow. Students can expect to see a large police presence on and around the campus to calm
