Structure Fire in Arcadia

A fire that started in the bedroom spread throughout the house, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

A house fire Monday resulted in approximately $250,000 worth of damage, but the home's residents managed to escape the flames relatively unscathed. The fire at 210 West Camino Real started in a bedroom just before 3 a.m., according to the .

Firefighters arrived on scene and saw smoke and fire surging through the front window of the single story dwelling. They battled the blaze for approximately 20 minutes.

The residents of the home initially refused treatment from paramedics or transport to the hospital. However, one family member was later transported by private vehicle to the hospital.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 5:41 a.m. and estimated the loss from the fire at $150,000 to the structure and $100,000 in contents. Firefighters determined the fire was accidental and started by smoking materials used in the bedroom.
