Tim Conway Jr.: 'I Learned Math at Santa Anita Park' (Video)

When radio personality Tim Conway Jr. struggled to learn math, his dad pulled him out of the school one day and took him down to Santa Anita Park for a real-world lesson in statistics and probability.

When Conway's teacher told the principal, the principal was less than thrilled.

"The principal calls home and says to my father...'This is borderline child abuse to teach your son how to box an exacta in the third grade,'" Conway joked. 

Conway, who hosts a show on top-rated KFI AM 640, told this tale and others during his keynote address Friday at the annual Mayor's Breakfast at the Arcadia Community Center.

Prior to Conway's address, Mayor Bob Harbicht reminded the crowd of about 200 attendees to appreciate the sacrifices of our country's founding fathers.

"Many of them were rich men," Harbicht said of the founding fathers. "What did they really have to gain from this revolution? These men put it all on the line."

At the end of the breakfast, Harbicht presented Conway with the key to the city.

The event closed with a performance by the Tzu Chi Charity Foundation, which performed a song and translated the lyrics into American Sign Language.
