• Community briefs: local sandbag stations and coat drive (almanacnews.com) — Atherton residents can pick up up to five free sandbags at the self-service station behind Holbrook-Palmer Park on Watkins Avenue, helping protect homes from winter flooding. The brief also lists similar sandbag locations in nearby Menlo Park, Portola Valley, and Woodside, plus a regional coat drive collecting warm clothing through December 19.
   

• Lewis Mountain neighborhood property has new owner after development fell through (c-ville.com) — A Charlottesville rental property has been sold to Keelan Property Group, a company registered in Atherton after a townhouse development proposal stalled under the city’s new zoning rules. The new Atherton-based owner has not yet filed any redevelopment plans, while local officials continue tweaking the zoning code that complicated the original project.
