• 29 jars of weed left near Auburn high school discarded, police say (abc10.com) — Auburn police say they collected and disposed of 29 Mason jars of marijuana left with a “free weed” sign on a sidewalk near Placer High School. Officers shared a lighthearted but firm warning on social media, reminding residents that holiday stress doesn’t justify leaving drugs where teens walk every day.
   

• Investigators arrest Roseville man as arson suspect in Placer County wildfires (sacbee.com) — Investigators have arrested a 21-year-old Roseville man on five arson counts tied to August wildfires that burned in the Ophir area, just west of Auburn. Cal Fire and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office say their months-long joint investigation continues and are asking anyone with additional information to call in anonymous tips.
