EL MONTE, CA — A suspect was wounded today when El Monte police opened fire during a confrontation tied to a stolen vehicle investigation, authorities said.
The shooting occurred around 11:45 a.m. Monday in the area of Garvey and New Deal avenues, according to El Monte police Sgt. Jacob Burse.
No officers were injured, and the suspect was hospitalized in stable condition, Burse said.
