38-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim In Fatal 60 Freeway Crash
CHP officers shut down the westbound 60 slow lane leading to the 60/15 interchange while a preliminary investigation was conducted.
JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A woman who was killed when her vehicle overturned on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley and rolled down a steep embankment, ejecting her, was identified Friday by the coroner.
Monette Alvarez, 38, of Ontario died in the crash that was reported at 5:39 p.m. Thursday on westbound state Route 60 near the interchange of northbound Interstate 15, the agency reported.
Alvarez was driving at an unconfirmed speed when her vehicle went out of control, plowed into a guardrail and flipped just after passing Wineville Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The vehicle rolled at least once, ejecting Alvarez.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within 15 minutes and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

No one else was in the vehicle.
