78-Year-Old Man ID'd By Coroner As Victim In Soboba Road Crash

GILMAN SPRINGS, CA — A man killed in an Oct. 4 vehicle crash near Gilman Hot Springs was identified over the weekend as a Los Angeles County resident.

Ben Baroz Sr., 78, of Rowland Heights died at the scene of the 7:05 a.m. crash on westbound Soboba Road, about .4 miles east of State Street, the Riverside County coroner's office reported.

According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, Baroz was the only person hurt in the solo-vehicle crash.

The crash cause remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
