Attempted Robbery Prompts Suspect Search In Moreno Valley

Employees say the suspect flashed a gun, demanded money from the register before fleeing.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department sought the public's help Tuesday to track down a suspect responsible for an attempted armed robbery at a Moreno Valley business.

The robbery was reported around 11:40 p.m. on Monday near the 12000 block of Frederick Street.

Employees at the business told deputies that the suspect allegedly pointed a silver firearm at them and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect was described as a man around 18 to 19 years old, 5- feet- 8 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie, grey sweatshirt, black backpack and a black bandana wrapped around his wrist, according to Sergeant David Barr.

The suspect allegedly fled the location before the register could open.

The sheriff's department said deputies arrived within minutes, but were unable to locate the suspect.
