BANNING, CA — Emergency responders raced to the scene of a Banning apartment building blaze Friday morning, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., firefighters arrived at the second-story apartment on the 3900 block of West Ramsay Street, Capt. John Clingingsmith told Patch.

"The fire was contained to the room and contents of one unit," he said. During the incident, occupants of the apartment building were temporarily evacuated.

There were no long-term displacements due to the fire, which was a "rapid knockdown," according to Clingingsmith.

Crews will remain at the scene for an additional hour performing salvage and overhaul. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
