Banning, Beaumont Police Officers Spread Holiday Cheer To Youth

The two Pass Area police departments combined forces to take dozens of kids out to "shop with a cop."

BEAUMONT, CA — Christmas is a little brighter this year for several Pass Area youth, thanks to the annual 'Shop with a Cop' program. The event returned this year, with the Banning and Beaumont police departments partnering up to take more than a dozen children on a shopping spree for the holiday.

The event, held Dec. 14 started with a procession — with full lights and sirens, too boot — from the Banning Community Center. They ended at the Beaumont Walmart, where each boy and girl was taken inside and escorted by officers to spend $100 each.

Santa was even on hand to enjoy the excitement!
