Banning Man ID'd As Victim Of Fatal Gunshot Wounds In RivCo Crash:

BANNING, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department released the identity of a 41-year-old Riverside County man found shot to death in a Moreno Valley traffic collision Sunday night.

Donneal Eugene Jones, of Banning, was identified by the sheriff's department Central Homicide officers in the ongoing investigation.

On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 7:21 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Station were initially dispatched to the 13000 block of Leota Court in Moreno Valley to the scene of a major traffic collision.

"Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," Sgt. Rafael Victorio said. "Responding deputies secured the scene with crime scene tape and closed the area to all vehicle and foot traffic."

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
