Banning Police Get Grant To Help The Department Identify Safety Needs

The state grant will help the Banning Police Department report data faster and more efficiently.

BANNING, CA — The Banning Police Department has received a grant from the state that will help officers report crashes and citations faster and more efficiently, the agency said Tuesday.

The grant program, from the California Office of Traffic Safety, will run through September 2026.

"Thanks to this grant, we're upgrading our traffic crash and citation reporting system,” Acting Captain Brandon Smith said. "The new system creates a faster, more efficient way to report crash and citation data, which ultimately helps identify a variety of traffic safety needs where we conduct education and enforcement measures in the community.”
