Banning Pair Arrested In Connection With RivCo Storage Unit Theft

Four separate storage units were ransacked, and $30,000 worth of property stolen from inside, authorities say.

PALM DESERT, CA — A 49-year-old man suspected in the burglary of a storage facility and a banning woman arrested with him were both free from jail this week.

Allan Jerry Andreis of Banning was arrested Friday on suspicion of burglary and possession of burglary tools was released on a $30,000 bail bond, according to Sgt. Travis Mountz of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Lisa Atherley, 42, also of Banning was also arrested with him, but on suspicion of having an outstanding felony warrant. She was freed Sunday on a $25,000 bond, according to jail records.

"On July 28, 2023, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a burglary at a storage facility in the city of Palm Desert," Mountz said in a statement. "The suspects victimized four separate people by stealing a total of over $30,000 worth of property from their storage units."

An investigation was assumed by the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, who identified Andreis as one of the suspects, according to Mountz. A search warrant was served at his residence in Banning and he was arrested Friday at around 9:20 a.m.

It was unknown how many other suspects are connected to the burglary.

Andreis was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning and was released Monday on a $30,000 bail bond, according to inmate records. Atherley was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside and was released Sunday on a $25,000 bail bond.
