Banning Woman Arrested, Held On Attempted Murder Charges
Police descended on an Altura Place home to find the woman who reported a domestic incident had stabbed another person, police say.

BANNING, CA — A Banning woman was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of a stabbing and attempting to kill a juvenile, Banning Police Officers said.
Eirianna Zaragoza, 18, of Banning, was arrested at the scene. She was held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on $1 million bail and is awaiting formal charges.
Just before 5:30 a.m., Banning Police Officers arrived at the 1500 block of Altura Place on reports of a possible stabbing inside a home.

"Officers responded to the residence where they received information about a possible home-invasion-style attack," Banning Police Acting Captain Brandon Smith said in a recent news release.
"The victim, who is a juvenile, suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to a
local trauma center for medical attention," Smith said. Due to the victim’s age, his name is being
withheld. He suffered severe injuries but is expected to recover.

Banning Police Officers and Detectives conducted a thorough investigation, and it was discovered that the woman who reported being in a domestic dispute with the victim was responsible for the victim’s injuries.
"Excellent police work by the patrol team and detectives involved in this investigation," Smith said.
Zaragoza was due to appear in court on Wednesday to answer charges of attempted murder and inflicting corporal injury on a dating partner.
