Arson Suspected In Beaumont House Fire

UPDATED: Calfire investigators were at the scene Friday and police are calling the fire "suspicious" in nature.

BEAUMONT, CA — Flames ripped through a Beaumont home on Friday morning, sending black smoke into the area. Fire reports indicate the blaze was reported at 9:47 a.m. on Stockton Street, in the Fairway Canyon area of town.

Six engines and a ladder company were sent to the scene, and crews encountered flames pouring out of three sides of the two-story home, officials at the scene told Patch. They managed to get the fire contained by 10:40 a.m.

Once the fire was doused, investigators began looking into what may have sparked the flames — and determined it may have been intentionally set, officials said. Crews at the scene said there were multiple possible ignition points found inside the house.
