Beaumont Man Suspected Of Making Terrorist Threats To Police

BEAUMONT, CA — A 44-year-old Beaumont man was behind bars Wednesday after he allegedly made harassing and threatening phone calls to the Beaumont Police Department and other agencies.
Rob Johannes Devocht was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home located in the 34000 block of Venturi Avenue.
Over several months, Devocht made calls that included misuse of the 911 system, according to Beaumont police.

"Misusing emergency services, like 911, can have serious consequences such as delaying emergency response and tying up valuable life-saving resources," Banning police said.
Devocht was booked into Banning's Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of making terrorist threats, a felony. The booking charges also include harassment by telephone and misuse of 911 — both misdemeanors. He is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Devocht has no criminal convictions in Riverside County, according to court records.
