BEAUMONT, CA — The Beaumont Police Department is changing leadership, the city announced this week. Sitting Police Chief Sean Thuilliez will depart the Beaumont Police Department to accept a new leadership role with the City of Tustin.
Chief Thuilliez has served the Beaumont community with dedication and distinction, and the city expresses its deepest appreciation for 18 years of dedicated service, according to a recent news release.
Chief Thuilliez has been a vital part of the City of Beaumont Police Department, leading with integrity, innovation, and a strong commitment to public safety, the release stated. Since his appointment as Chief in 2015, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives, including succession development, citizens academy, crime reduction efforts, and community policing initiatives such as commercial enforcement and the K9 program.

Thuilliez spoke about his departure and his time at the city of Beaumont's Police Department.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Beaumont and to work alongside the incredible men and women of the Beaumont Police Department,” he said. “While I am excited about this next season in my professional journey, I will always cherish my time here and the relationships built with the community and my colleagues.”

Mayor Mike Lara expressed gratitude for Chief Thuilliez’s leadership and contributions.
“Chief Thuilliez has been an outstanding leader, fostering trust and collaboration between the police department and our residents. We wish him all the best in his new role with the City of Tustin," he said.
Beaumont's City Manager, Elizabeth Gibbs, also shared a special message with the outgoing chief.
“We bid farewell to Chief Thuilliez, whose leadership and vision have left a lasting legacy of positive change in the City of Beaumont," she said. "His expertise and dedication have made a profound impact, and while we will certainly miss his guidance, we wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors.”
It was not immediately clear who would fill the role of interim chief as the city decides what's next for the department.
