BEAUMONT, CA — One person was arrested following a multi-agency search in Beaumont on Tuesday morning, police tell Patch. It started around 10:08 a.m. when a Beaumont Police officer attempted to do a vehicle check in the area of 6th Street and Illinois Avenue, according to Beaumont Police Spokeswoman Marcedes Cashmer.

As the officer was attempted to talk to the man, who had been sitting in the car, he jumped out and took off running, Cashmer said.

After the man took off, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department was called out to help with an aerial search using their helicopter. Meanwhile, Beaumont police officers searched on the ground for the man, and issued a brief advisory to the public to steer clear.
