Injured Dirt Bike Rider Rescued From Jurupa Valley Hillside

The "rider down" call was received at 12:15 p.m. Monday in Jurupa Hills.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A dirt bike rider crashed on a hillside in Jurupa Valley Monday, suffering injuries that required firefighters to mount a rescue operation to extricate him.

The "rider down" call was received at 12:15 p.m. Monday in Jurupa Hills, west of the intersection of Philadelphia and Country Village Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that several engine crews were sent to the location to locate the rider, whose off-road vehicle had apparently overturned.

Firefighters trekked up the hillside and found the victim, identified only as a male, with unspecified minor to moderate injuries.

Crews initially believed an all-terrain vehicle would be required to haul the victim down the hill, but it wasn't necessary. He was carried to an ambulance, which transported him to a Riverside hospital for treatment shortly before 1 p.m.
