Beaumont Police, Schools Warn Of Man Who Approached Child
Officials are asking parents and children alike to be extra vigilant.

BEAUMONT, CA — As Beaumont police search for a man who approached a young girl in town, school officials are asking parents and children alike to remain extra vigilant. Police say the incident happened Thursday around 8:15 a.m., in the area of Sunburst Drive and Starlight Avenue, which is near Sundance Elementary School.
Police say an 11-year-old girl was approached by an adult man while she was walking to school. She said she was near Sunshine Park when he tried to contact her.
"The Hispanic male, in his 20s, was reported to have a mustache and was wearing an orange shirt, blue hooded jacket and grey sweatpants," Beaumont police said in a news release. "The male was also seen driving a silver colored passenger car, possibly a Chevy Malibu."

Police say they are investigating the "suspicious circumstances" case and asked anyone who may have seen the man to call 951-769-8500.
