Beaumont Suspect At-Large After Attempted Robbery, Burglary

BEAUMONT, CA -- A suspect is at-large Friday after possibly attempting to rob a Beaumont bank and burglarizing another business on the same day. Beaumont Police said the incidents happened on Jan. 15 about an hour apart from one another.
The attempted bank robbery happened around 7:42 p.m. in the 400 block of E. 6th Street. The victim reported that while patronizing the ATM, a man approached the victim’s vehicle, police said.
The suspect flashed a handgun, threatened the victim and then dropped a plastic bag in the window advising the victim to put their money in the bag. The victim accelerated the gas on the vehicle and left the area without complying with the suspect, police said.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 30s. He was wearing a black/grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a bandana over his face, police said.
An hour later, around 8:53 p.m., a burglary was reported at a business in the 400 block of E. 4th Street, police said,

Employees described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 30s wearing a black shirt, tan pants and a bandana came into the back door of the business, flashed a handgun and demanded money.
The suspect fled from the location with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
Beaumont Police Department detectives believe that the same person was involved in both cases and is requesting the assistance of the public to help identify the suspect.
