Brush Fire Sparks South Of March Air Reserve Base
A car fire ignited brush and set off an almost 10-acre blaze in the Nuevo area east of I-215 and north of the SR-74.

NUEVO, CA —A vehicle and at least five acres of vegetation were on fire Tuesday in Nuevo, where firefighters were battling the blaze.
Fire crews responded shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday to the 31100 block of Nuevo Road to a report of a vegetation fire, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
"Firefighters on-scene of one vehicle and vegetation burning," fire officials wrote in a statement at around 10:30 a.m. "Five to eight acres of brush burning in light flashy fuels at moderate rate of spread."

Additional air resources were requested to the scene to help mitigate the flames, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. No injuries were immediately reported.
