
A cold early season storm was moving east into the San Gorgonio Pass on Wednesday morning and it was expected to bring strong winds and potential for showers and mountain snow.
In Beaumont and Banning, showers were likely with thunderstorms possible after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The predicted high for Oct. 9 was in the high 50s. Southwest winds were expected 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
The storm system was expected to move out early Thursday, followed by dry and warmer weather Friday through Sunday, according to the Weather Service.
A high wind warning was in effect for the east Pass until 3 a.m. Thursday Oct. 10. Sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 65 mph were possible in the mountains and on some desert slopes, according to the Weather Service.
