Coroner ID's Body Found In Crestline As Missing Newport Beach Woman
The San Bernardino County Coroner's Office positively identified the deceased woman as a Newport Beach resident.

CRESTLINE, CA — The identity of the woman whose body was found on a steep slope of the San Bernardino Mountains nearly two weeks ago was positively identified as a missing Newport Beach woman, officials say.
On Saturday, the coroner's office identified the deceased woman as Aryan Papoli, 58, of Newport Beach.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Papoli had been reported missing in Newport Beach, and the death investigation is ongoing.

Officials recovered Papoli's remains shortly before 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Sheriff's deputies from the Twin Peaks Station initially responded to Highway 138 near Crestline Road, where her body was discovered.
"As deputies arrived, they located the body about 75 feet down a steep embankment," Detective Alejandro Duran reported. Specialized Investigations Division responded and assisted in the recovery of the woman, with support from the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

"They retrieved the woman from the side of the mountain, and her body was taken to the coroner's office," Duran said.
The Coroner has determined that her injuries were consistent with a fall.
"The death investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to identify the victim, according to Duran.
